Being light and missing flight

Waking up 2 hours before the flight but I was still able to miss my flight. Lesson learnt, one hour travel time on public transport may never be enough buffer.

The moment I took the wrong elevator down to the exit of the MRT station, I had a feeling it would be a ripple effect. Just missed the bus I was meant to be on and to true fashion, got off the wrong terminal, ended up taking the connecting sky train and ran for my check in counter. It felt like I was a contestant on 'Amazing Race'.... you that feeling when nothing seems to right despite all your efforts, I had that feeling when I wan running with my luggage in tow towards my check in counter, I was one the other end of it at Row 1 and I was due to check in at Row 9! It was then I realised that it was all in vain I suppose.

Expensive S$140 lesson learnt.

Signed, sealed and delivered...now the wait

Was a manic morning trying to get documents all sorted when I got the call that I will need to bring a few docs. A passport sized photo amongst others. So whilst dashing back to get soft copy of cert and out again, I had to search for an instant photo booth. Found one at Clarke Quay mrt conveniently situated for the MOM I guess. Managed to hail a cab after and got to the office just in time!

Reason for the rush is because I was due to leave the country the following day.

Now to sort out matters and wrap up in KL before dabbling back here and start employment again after a 1.5 year hiatus.

Three things to be thankful for

Every now and then, me and my wife had been coming up with three things to be grateful for no matter how bad the day or week has been. It's been a great boost to oneself if I may say so myself. It kind of reminds you not to sweat the small stuff and that there is so much more to life. So here's mine for the week;

- A Sealy king bed set that we recently bought and although we have yet to receive it yet, we cannot wait to be in slumber on it.

- Great colleagues. Be it current and ex. I have been blessed to have good ones around me. You know who you are if you are ever seeing this. One and a few had given me the opportunity to be able to join the workforce again. Thank you!

Air conditioning. Every time I walk around in a mall and when the weather is just so hot and humid outside, I am grateful that for $2.00 I could hop a train from one end to the other and enjoy the mall with great AC. And every time I see a family pushing their kid in to stroller in the malls, I just makes me happy that I would be able to do that one day too.

Work on yours today and the wonders when it makes you think Thayer already have so much in your life already so why hate and compare to others.

When it snows, it sure falls!

What a week it has been, after long week and finally back in SG, got myself an interview for a position in  production as a production coordinator in creative services dept with the none other than Discovery Networks Asia Pac.

It all came pretty quick, and I hadn't expected it to move so quick. Thanks to Lisa who referred me to Eileen, I managed to arrange a meet up with Xi Ren and Eileen herself on Friday 30th May. The chat was really nice and refreshing and to meet them once again. Got briefed more about the job at hand and I was amped up.

So after the interview, I had to leave without saying hello to fellow ex-colleagues in the office as I had to rush off for the doctors appointment. Reached orchard just in time for lunch with the missus and we headed off for our appointment.

What sheer good news it was to hear from the OBGYN! After the long day, I was just walking in the middle of Orchard Rd, a sense of awesome feeling just swept me and it just felt so relieved that I let our a big sigh of relief, the kind where you are just having the best time of your life and you are so elated with sheer happiness that nothing else matters.
